This historic spot is a unique one-stop for vintage finds, local coffee and fresh flowers, with craft beer and award-winning eats next door.

February 4, 2026

Here’s the perfect afternoon for vintage shopping fans: first, a steaming cup of your favorite coffee drink and a delicious pastry. Then a long, wonderful browse around vintage apparel racks and a curated corner of fresh flowers and plants, followed by a delicious pint and an award-winning burger from a local brewery — all inside a storied location within walking distance of historic downtown.

Sound too good to be true?

It’s not, if you’re headed for the group of small businesses covering 5,000 square feet inside the former textile mill located at 165 Brumley Ave NE in Concord, North Carolina. Dating back to the 1880s, the updated building is now a great place to eat, shop, hang out and be immersed in history. Read on for the ideal outing.

First Up: Provided Coffee

A good day starts with good coffee, so head to the counter of Provided Coffee first.

It’s one of the largest coffee shops in the state, but feels cozy inside despite the spacious setting. Natural light floods in through large windows and collected furniture offers a seat for every guest. The menu features classics and seasonal options, so you’re sure to find something you’ll love. Are you a latte drinker or more of an americano person? Or maybe you’d like a matcha? Order up your favorite, grab a snack and hang out for a while, enjoying the vibes.

Shopping at Nothing New

Time for the main event: shopping! Nothing New is a beautifully curated vintage store where you can score amazing finds, from T-shirts, denim, dresses and outerwear to shoes, books, vinyl and more. Search for your favorites among their selection of vintage apparel — you’ll find shirts for musicians and bands, racing jackets and hoodies featuring a variety of sports teams. Score a one-of-a-kind outfit for that special occasion or bring home a special decor item to elevate any room.

No matter what you’re shopping for, every item here has a story.

Nothing New’s curated selection changes every few weeks, so take your time browsing the new arrivals, and don’t be afraid to ask the staff for help. You’ll probably find yourself wanting to return soon, and for good reason.

Head to the register with your secondhand haul, but not without stopping to browse the collection of locally grown flowers and plants from Curiosity Farm, located just down the road. Pick up something beautiful and blooming before you move on.

Final Stop: Kick Back With a Brew

You’ve worked up an appetite, so it’s time to head to Southern Strain Brewing Company, the brewer-owned and operated craft brewery that prides itself on being “Concord’s Cultivators of Craft.” There you’ll find their production facility and taproom, where they pour small-batch lagers, new strains, hop-forward beers and something for every taste.

The on-site kitchen at Southern Strain is The Eatery. In 2024, The Eatery won the annual Cabarrus Burger Madness competition with their “Life’s Gouda with Bacon” burger. It has a double-smash patty topped with hickory smoked bacon strips, bacon jam, smoked Gouda cheese, pickles, red onion slices and roasted citrus aioli, all on top of a toasted citrus bun. Luckily, they kept it on the menu, but if you’re looking for something else, try any of their other burgers, salads, wings, soups and much more.
