Whether you want to spend a few days celebrating the nation’s independence or a few hours at a fireworks show, Cabarrus County has you covered.
This year, Kannapolis and Mount Pleasant kick off the festivities on June 28 and more 4th of July celebrations follow providing plenty of time to celebrate Independence Day throughout the area.

Town of Mt. Pleasant Independence Celebration
The town of Mt. Pleasant is kicking off Cabarrus County’s 4th of July festivities in June! On Saturday, June 28, visit Town Hall Park in downtown to enjoy an exciting array of happenings.
This Independence Day celebration includes a parade, music from DJ Eric Bowman and, of course, fireworks. The event also features “A Taste of Mount Pleasant,” which showcases the town’s local restaurants, a live performance by the band too MUCH SyLviA, and a shag contest.

Village Park in Kannapolis
Also on June 28, grab a blanket or a lawn chair and head to Village Park in Kannapolis for a live performance by the Charlotte Symphony followed by a fireworks display! This free night of live music is part of the City’s ongoing summer Village Park Concerts Series where you can dance under the stars during performances on the amphitheater.
This oasis is a local favorite for summertime fun. Along with live music, Village Park is also home to a Movies in the Park series, a playground and splash pad, walking trails, a train that runs throughout the grounds, and double-decker carousel that kids are sure to love.

Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Summer Shootout
Head over to Charlotte Motor Speedway to experience racing action with 4th of July flair! The Cook Out Summer Shootout is a family-friendly event that showcases the future stars of racing as they speed around the frontstretch quarter-mile track in Legend Cars and Bandoleros.
On Tuesday, July 1, “America’s Home for Racing” will light up the night with 4th of July fireworks as fans enjoy grassroots racing, games, giveaways and more! This huge display has become one of the area’s most popular Fourth of July traditions. All first responders and military with a valid ID will get in free. Harrisburg July 4th Celebration
This town’s annual Independence Day event is so big that it spans two days (and has a reputation as one of the most well-attended 4th of July festivals in the region).
The Harrisburg July 4th Celebration starts at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 3 when Harrisburg Park opens for amusements. The day includes rides and games plus live music in the evening, then fireworks at 9:30 p.m. On July 4, Harrisburg kicks off Independence Day with a parade that runs along Highway 49 and features bands, floats, tractors and special honors for military veterans and their families. Then, head back to Harrisburg Park for opening ceremonies plus more live performances and fireworks.

Independence Day at Atrium Health Ballpark
Celebrate the red, white and blue at a baseball game! At Atrium Health Ballpark, the patriotic festivities begin with the USA Stars & Stripes game on Sunday, June 29, 2025. On July 3, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers take the field against the Hickory Crawdads with the first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Then, USA Baseball returns on Friday, July 4 taking on the Appalachian League.
After cheering on the home team and snapping selfies with the Cannon Ballers’ mascot, Boomer, stay in your stadium seats and enjoy the fireworks. The Patriotic Celebration features a colorful display of fireworks to celebrate the national holiday. It’s the stadium’s largest fireworks spectacular of the season.
Can’t make it on the 3rd? The Cannon Ballers also play the Crawdads at home on July 1-2 with games beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Town of Midland Independence Celebration
Grab your lawn chair and head to Rob Wallace Park on Saturday, July 5 as the Town of Midland hosts their Independence Celebration. Food trucks will welcome guests starting at 4 p.m. with live music from Jake Zeigler and Deeper Shade of Blue at 5 p.m. The night will also feature a dazzling display of fireworks slated to start at 9:30 p.m.
